Kathleen E. Breen
Communicant of St. William’s Parish

TEWKSBURY: Kathleen E. (Niles) Breen, age 93, a resident of Tewksbury for over 60 years, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Friday, August 19, 2016.

She was the beloved wife of Wilfred P. Breen, who passed away on June 12, 1989.

Born in Middleton, New York on September 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William Niles and the late Mary (Foley) Niles.

Mrs. Breen was raised in South Ozone Park, Long Island, NY, where she attended local schools and graduated from John Adams High School.

Following her wedding, Mrs. Breen dedicated her life to her husband and their ten children.

She was a devout communicant and supporter of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, where in previous years she was a member of the Ladies Sodality.

Mrs. Breen was the consummate Irish wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always the preferred and willing babysitter for all her offspring. In addition, she loved attending family gatherings and chatting about her children’s and grandchildren’s endeavors.

Mrs. Breen is survived by eight children, Kathleen Kinsella of Tewksbury, William Breen and his wife Peggy of Andover, Michael Breen and Dennis Breen both of Tewksbury, Patricia Howes and her husband David of Moultonborough, NH, Timmy Breen and his wife Diane of Pittsfield, John Breen and his wife Lynn of Lowell, and Eddie Breen and his wife Katie of Salem, NH; also fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Breen was the mother of the late James J. Breen and the late Thomas A. Breen, and mother-in-law of the late Edmund Kinsella, Sr.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 4-7 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
