West Boylston- Claire (Edwards) Waite, 88, passed away on August 20, 2016 at UMass Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Worcester on April 12, 1928, daughter of Arthur B. and Helen B. (Brule) Edwards, and was raised in Rutland. She met and married Roland C. Waite, her husband of 62 years until his passing in 2009.
Claire was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed many road trips traveling throughout New England, especially Maine and Cape Cod. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, bird watching, and exploring new dining experiences with family and friends. She will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.
Mrs. Waite leaves behind three sons, Roger A. Waite and his wife, Deborah of Holden; Robert A. Waite of Spencer and Raymond P. Waite and his wife, Clarissa of Barre; two daughters, Barbara Hilsinger and her husband, Harold of Spencer; Karen Cormier and her husband, Ronald of Worcester; a brother, Alfred Edwards and his wife Dorothy of Lutz, Florida; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Claire is predeceased by several siblings.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 24th at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in High Plains Cemetery, Oakdale. There are no calling hours.
