Marla S. (Castaneda) Shefferd, 66, of Ventura passed away Aug 20, 2016 after a courageous battle to survive.
Marla was born on Feb 28, 1950 in Ventura. A lifelong resident, she graduated from Buena High School in 1968, and worked as a longtime employee at the Hungry Hunter. Marla was deeply devoted to her family and dedicated her life to her children.
She is survived by her mother Stella Castaneda; loving sons Denis Shefferd (wife Amy Shefferd), Dustin Shefferd and Jason Shefferd (partner Daniel Patton); grandchildren Kaela Shefferd and Quin Shefferd; sisters Loretta Campbell, Vicki Bleeck and Clair Frasca; and many nieces and nephews; as well as John Shefferd, father of her three boys. Marla was cared for by her sons and Daniel Patton.
Marla loved to cook, bake, taking many trips to casinos with her sisters and mother, and spending time at sporting events with her grandchildren.
Our daughter, mom, grandma, sister and aunt will forever be missed.
Family and friends are invited to Funeral Services to be held Friday August 26, 2016 at 11am in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. A visiting hour will precede the service from 10-11am in the Funeral Home.
