LEICESTER: Linda A. (Millard) Rowden, 66, of Rawson Street died Thursday, Aug. 18 in her home after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, Mark W. Rowden, two sons; Matthew M. Rowden and his wife Alisha of Charlton and Adam M. Rowden and his wife Audra of Charlton, her mother Ethel K. Millard of Colebrook, CT, a brother; Gregory P. Millard and his wife Jean of Colebrook, CT, her father-in-law; Webb N. Rowden of Leicester, sister-in-law Gail M. Provo and her husband Bruce of Leicester, brother-in-law; Steven Rowden and his wife Beth of Leicester, five grandchildren; Devin, Dylan, Natalia, Dante & Jacob and one niece and several nephews.
Linda was born in Winsted, CT, daughter of Burton K. Millard. She graduated from Northwestern Regional High School in Winsted, CT and received an associates degree from Becker Jr. College. She was the Assistant Town Clerk in Leicester for 20 years until retiring recently due to illness. She was a member of the Leicester Mothers Club where she started the Kindergarten open house program, the Leicester High Booster Club, the Leicester Music Club, the Leicester Garden Club and the Massachusetts Audubon Society. Linda's happiest times were spent with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed reading, gardening and trips to the beach. The family would like to thank the UMass Memorial Oncology team for their compassionate care.
Funeral Services and Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester are private. Public calling hours are Monday, Aug. 22from 4:00-7:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester.
