Obituary

Michael James Tremblay, 41, of New Bedford died Tuesday August 16, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long battle with neurofibromatosis.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was the son of Ann (Aylward) Tremblay and the late Wilfred H. Tremblay. He was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Michael was employed as a senior machine operator for Tegra Medical in Dartmouth for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, where he was active in the Life Teen Program. He was a Lay Associate at the LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro, where he was involved in many youth conferences. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he always enjoyed attending their games. He also enjoyed bowling.
He was known for his kind manner and extreme generosity.
He is survived by his mother, Ann; his siblings, James Tremblay and his wife Kristine, Maureen Oliveira and her husband Richard, Kathleen Hartford and her husband Eric, Christine Tremblay, Allan Tremblay, Joseph Tremblay, Luciana Tremblay, and Mary Fe Vieira; and twelve nieces and nephews, Erin, Alison, Sophia, Gabrielle, Matthew, Shannon, Sara, Julia, Kenji, Cameron, Kai, and Jaiden.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
