Carol Litton Watson, age 70, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East, in Memphis, TN. She was born May 18, 1946 in Cleveland, MS to the late Michael Brown and Katherine Wagner Litton. Carol was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Water Valley. She enjoyed growing, hand-painting and wood burning gourds. Carol started the Crafter's Mall, and owned the Whistle Stop Café in Water Valley. At one time she owned a beauty shop and would go to the nursing home to style hair for the residents there. Carol also worked as an assistant teacher at Davidson Elementary School in Water Valley.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with Jace Hamilton, Jordan Hodge, Dakota King, Brandon Lewis, Patrick Peacock and Keith Prestage serving as pallbearers. Jeff Clements, Derrick Croy, Larry Prestage, Marsha Prestage, Todd Prestage and Kevin West will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Lisa Thomas and Katie Watson both of Water Valley; her sister, Kathy Norman of Augusta, SC; her brother, Mike Litton, Jr. of Blairsville, GA; her grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Kayla Thomas, Mikey Watson, and Daniel Peterson; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Watson.
