North Dighton – Robert W. Brassard, husband of the late Muriel L. (Brackett) Brassard, died at home on August 13, 2016.
He was 89.
Born in New Haven, CT; he was raised and educated in Maine.
He is the son of the late Wilbrod and Alice (Fougere) Brassard.
Robert served with the United States Navy during World War II, and both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His first ship assignment was aboard the USS Constitution; his proudest was aboard the USS New Jersey.
Employed as a welder, Robert was an avid fan of country music and old westerns.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by three sons, Robert Brassard of NH; David Brassard and Michael Brassard, both of Dighton; six daughters, Sharon Moniz of FL; Brenda Musanti of CA; Kathleen Martinez of TX; Diana Cassidy of NH: Patricia Malaguti and Pattie Brassard, both of Dighton; seventeen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Richard Brassard, and brother of the late Earl Brassard, George Brassard, and Donald Brassard.
His funeral will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, on Monday, August 22nd at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Sunday, August 21st from 4 to 7 p.m.
