Obituary

James Eulynn “Judge” Sumner, 89, of Enigma passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville. A graveside funeral service will be held for Judge at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Enigma Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Rev. Pete Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, August 19, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Born April 26, 1927 in Tift County, Judge was the son of the late Ralph Sumner and Lillian Kendrick Sumner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Nagles Sumner; and a son, Ronnie James Sumner. He was a retired farmer and worked with Southern Turf Nurseries for more than 20 years.

Mr. Sumner is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donny and Brenda Sumner and Michael and Connie Sumner, all of Enigma; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Barbara Sumner of Enigma; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bentley Barrentine of Enigma; four grandchildren and their spouses, Tony and Rochelle Sumner, Cathy and Michael Hogan, Chris and Sharon Sumner and Ronny and Jessica Sumner; and nine great-grandchildren.
