Juan B. Calixto “Johnny” age 42 succumbed to complications from a lifelong illness. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Johnny was raised in Lawrence and Methuen. He graduated Lawrence High School in 1994 and attended Northern Essex Community College. Johnny loved spending time outdoors with his family; camping, fishing, and hosting cookouts. Johnny loved teaching his daughters about football and watching every New England Patriots game with his family. He enjoyed golfing and dancing with his wife. Johnny truly loved always being surrounded by family and friends.
Johnny should be remembered for his outgoing, warm personality. His daughters always joked that their dad made friends with strangers regularly because he enjoyed talking to people so much. He always went out of his way to make everyone feel welcomed.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 18 years, Veronica Landry Calixto. He was a proud father to his beloved daughters Mikhayla Calixto and Ava Calixto of Methuen, MA. His father Angel Calixto of Pawtucket, RI, predeceased by his mother, Lucy Reyes of Lawrence, MA, His mother in law and father in law Gaetane and Theodore Landry of Methuen, MA, His brother Justin Calixto and sister in Law Athienna Calixto of Stafford, VA. His brother Elvis Calixto of Atlantic City, NJ and sister Jasmin Calixto of Tampa, FL, his brother in law Frank Landry of Methuen, MA as well as nieces, nephews, many aunts and uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his best friends Neftali Torres of Manati, Puerto Rico and Anthony Torres of Dracut, MA.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August, 19th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be private for the family.
