Frances M. Conklin, 96

Frances M. (Lapensee) Conklin, age 96, of Taunton passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was born in Taunton on September 19, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (McGann) Lapensee. Frances was educated in Taunton schools and she would go on to become a Licensed Nurse Practitioner. Following nursing school Frances moved to Texas and worked for many years at Hendricks Memorial Hospital in Abiline, Texas until her retirement in 1986.
Ms. Conklin enjoyed volunteering at the Red Cross Food Bank and was a member of the Taunton Council on Aging. She enjoyed playing tennis in her younger years as well as playing Bingo. She will always be loved and remembered for being a reserved and private person.
Frances is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and is reunited with the love of her life and first husband; the late Lawrence Cote. Ms. Conklin was also preceded in death by her sisters; the late Irene Machado, the late Jeannette Audet and the late Peggy Lapensee.
In accordance with Ms. Conklin’s wishes, a private burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
