Evelyn "Evie" Hefter, 92 of Ventura, passed away on Saturday August 13, 2016.
Evie was born on July 23, 1924 in New York City, New York and she was a Ventura County resident for the past 47 years, coming from Santa Maria.
She was a homemaker and an artist and a member of the Ventura County Art Association. She enjoyed knitting. Evie loved all animals especially dogs and she was involved in animal charities and associations of all types.
Evie is survived by her son Robert Hefter and his wife Leslie, of Portland, Oregon; daughters Jean L. Hefter, of Ventura, Sandra S. Park and her husband Bill, of Ventura, and Barbara Kingsland of Chandler, Arizona; grand children Joshua, Jason, Scott, Kelly, Dana, Krystal, and Lance; and 7 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Thursday evening August 18, 2016 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 6pm in the Funeral Home's Chapel. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 19, 2016 at 10am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road, Ventura. Interment will follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
