DeDe was born and raised in Marlboro, son of the late Howard and Marion (Angier) Hosmer. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Worcester Boy’s Trade High School. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force until being honorably discharged in 1954. He and his wife Theresa were longtime residents of Berlin following their marriage and he owned and operated Eddie’s Service Station on Maple Street in Marlboro for over 42 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Karen McCarthy and her husband Thomas of East Sandwich, Kevin Hosmer and his wife Debbie of Groton, Paula Hosmer-Martin and her husband John of Georgia and Keith Hosmer of Clinton. He also leaves his sister, June Hosmer of Oklahoma; his two loving grandchildren, Katlyn Hosmer and Courtney Everett; his adoring three great grandchildren, Logan, Hailey and Tyler along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Hosmer.

DeDe had many interests in his life including playing cards, bowling and his occasional trip to a horse racing event. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time, especially caring for his rose garden and was an avid Red Sox fan. His true passion in his life was his family and most importantly his “best friend” and love of his life Theresa. He always looked forward to spending time with them and looked forward to the special trips to the casino with Theresa. He will always be fondly remembered as an understanding and caring husband, father and grandfather. For all who loved and knew him, his unique easy going and low key personality will be forever cherished.
