Jackie Lee Black, 47, of Tifton passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at Phoebe-Sumter Hospital in Americus. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Black will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Greg Jones, Luther Black, Lee Pritchett, Charlie Watts, Vay Billington and Bud Norman will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 9, 1969 in Tifton, Mr. Black was the son of the late Clarence Lee Black and Lorene Harper Black. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Black and Carl Monroe “Dickie” Black. He was employed with Tifton Contractors as a tree surgeon. He loved all his family, fishing and loved to cook. He was always there for anybody to listen to.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Cynthia Sue “Cindy” Harnage Walker Black of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Cherese Black of North Carolina and Gregory Walker and Shelbe Junlakan of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon Walker and Dan Makin of Tennessee and Christina Walker Norman and husband Bud of Tifton; a brother, Luther Black of Tifton; five sisters, Patsy Watts of Lenox, Faye Yon of Leesburg, Jeanette Boyd of Norman Park and Letha Crosby and Sue Pritchett, both of Tifton; eleven grandchildren, Thomas Craig, Ande Craig, Christopher Walker, Samuel Thomas, Kalob Walker, Jacy Walker, Jemma Walker, Barrette Makin, Tenley Makin, Harley Black and Ambellina Black; and several nieces and nephews.
