ASHLAND: Alec William Tagliaferri, 24, of Ashland, MA, died at home on August 11, 2016.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 8, 1992, most beloved Alec is mourned by his family, parents Rick Tagliaferri and Jill Mackavey, and younger brother Noah Tagliaferri.
He is also mourned by his extended loving family, Grandmother Janice Kadet of Bonita Springs, FL, Step-grandparents Maria and David Carls of Wayland, and aunts and uncles, Carole Mackavey of Houston, TX; Andrew Tagliaferri and Gwen Byrd of Ketchikan, Alaska; Annie and Craig Duncan of Corvallis, OR; Art Tagliaferri and Debbie Keyes of South Weymouth and Christopher Dolezal of NYC, NY. Alec is also survived by cousins Odessa, Anya, and Lily, and his girlfriend Natalie Belyi of Millbury.
Alec spent most of his life in Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School with the Class of 2010. For the past 4 ½ years he was a favorite barista with Starbucks in Wayland.
He was an empathic young man who loved making people happy and enjoyed meeting people of all cultures and ages. He loved children, animals, open spaces, the wonders of the world, and helping others. Alec worked as a volunteer in Central America with his mother at a children’s orphanage and was in the process of planning another mission trip with a close friend.
Some of his finest memories were from the many summers he was a camper and camp counselor at the Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center in New Hampshire. He will deply missed by all who knew him, for his compassion, unique sense of humor, free spirit, and devoted friend.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 6:00 t0 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 3 Maple Street, Framingham.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Route 30, Wayland, where he will be laid to rest next to his grandfather William Mackavey.
