Laverne Bishop Kerr, 82, of Tifton passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John Thomas officiating. Her committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Sheppard officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born October 16, 1933 in Tift County, Mrs. Kerr was the daughter of the late Chester Bishop and Mary Paulk Bishop. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Lynn Robinson Burton; a brother, Carl Bishop; and two sisters, Carolyn Hess and Jean Scott. She was a retired office manager for Dr. Charles Prieve in Bay Town, Texas and member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God. She was known for her winning smile.
Mrs. Kerr is survived by her husband, Ed Kerr of Tifton; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Derek and Debbie Robinson of Tifton, David and Gwen Robinson of Omega, Joseph C. and Diane Kerr of Ohio, Jonathan E. Kerr of Pace, Florida and Maury D. and Margaret Kerr of Valrico, Florida; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherrie and Richie Goodman of Kansas City, Missouri and Wanda Robinson of Tifton; a sister, Ann Sutton of Tifton; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
