Obituary

Mildred H. (Withers) Kachadoorian, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 24, 2005 after a brief illness. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her devoted husband of 65 years, Thomas Kachadoorian, two sons and their wives, Thomas (Butch) & Donna Kachadoorian and Robert & Cynthia Kachadoorian. Her daughter Katherine Kachadoorian predeceased her. She also leaves a son John (Jack) Kachadoorian of Leicester, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester on June 29, 1921, daughter of George and Catherine (Hines) Withers. She was predeceased by four siblings, Charles, George, Mary and Alice.

Millie graduated from Commerce High School in 1939. She married her sweetheart, Thomas in 1940. For forty years, she assisted her husband, brother-in-law Sarkis Kachadoorian and his wife Mary with the daily operations of their successful family business, Tech Market. She worked as a driving instructor for Gladys’ Driving School and as an office manager for Hotpoint. She retired from O’Coin’s in 1989. After her retirement, she volunteered her time at Worcester City Hospital.

Many of Millie’s retired years were spent traveling with her husband. They visited numerous places but spent many winters in her favorite destination, Marco Island, Florida. Besides her husband, her family was the most important part of her life. She was a constant and positive influence on her sons and their families. She took pride in their accomplishments and they were her greatest source of pleasure.

Millie was an avid reader, loved to play cards and was an excellent cook. She loved to entertain. She especially took pride in cooking and having her family for weekly Sunday dinners and holidays.
