Obituary

Rogers, Thomas Luther of Hyde Park, formerly of Roxbury, passed away on August 11, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. Beloved husband of Jeanne (Farrell) and her son Derek Creaser. Thomas is survived by Frank Rogers of Needham, beloved brother to Marie Allan of Hyde Park, and the late Manny and Joseph Rogers. Also survived many nieces and nephews. Thomas was a hardworking, generous, and knowledge person who helped many people to advance and succeed. Although Thomas never had children, he was like a second father to JeanMarie, Julie, Robyn, Michael, Billy, Bobby, Johnny, Derek, Sean, and Stevie. Thomas will be remembered for his wealth of knowledge, ability to fix almost anything and willingness to help. He was the "go to person" who could fix anything. Thomas loved politics and campaigning for his candidates. He was an active member of Fair Share and the Lewis Chemical cleanup. Thomas always believed that government should be accessible and fair for everyone. He strove to accomplish this throughout his career. Thomas's life and work ethic served him well in his professional roles as Assistant Building Commissioner for the City of Boston and Retired Chief of Inspections for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Services to be held on Monday, August 15 at the Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, West Roxbury, 02132, 4-8pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment private. Thomas was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and member of the Masonic Union Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Road Canton, MA 02021 or a charity of your choice.
