Obituary

Frances A. "Sissy" Dalton, of Wilmington formerly of Medford and Somerville, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness, August 10, 2016, at her home with her loving son Christopher by her side. She was 69 years of age. Born in Medford she was the daughter of Joseph F. McCarthy of Wilmington and the late Marilyn (Dameron) McCarthy.

Sissy, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, has been a resident of Wilmington since 2004. She was raised as a child in Somerville where she attended school. She worked for several years as a hair dresser before securing a position at the Lahey Clinic Telecommunications Department where she worked for over 24 years serving as Manager prior to her retirement. Mostly devoted to her son and family, Sissy enjoyed spending time with her parents every weekend here in Wilmington when she was living in Medford. She also loved caring for her pet cats over the years.

Sissy is lovingly survived by her devoted son Christopher Dalton of Wilmington. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph F. McCarthy of Wilmington and the late Marilyn (Dameron) McCarthy. Cherished sister of James McCarthy and his wife Christine of Billerica, Robert McCarthy and his wife Linda of Ashburnham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and several dear friends.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Tuesday, August 16th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Contributions may be made in Sissy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
