Obituary

Laconia-----John " Grandfather Red Hawk" Lewis Swain 68, of Church street, died at Laconia Rehabilitation Center, Sunday, July 24, 2016, with his loving wife by his side.

John was born September 1, 1947 in Laconia, son to the late Theadore and Elenore (Willey) Swain. He has been a lifelong craftsman, making and selling his own creations fashioned from a variety of mediums. He enjoyed working mostly with stained glass, candles, native jewelry and gem stones. John has also been a longtime member of the NH Intertribal Native American Council. John was also a member of the LIHA (Laconia Indian Historical Association).

John is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Swain also of Laconia, his daughter, Fadera L. Swain of Lakeport, two grandchildren, Hunter and Asher Gibbs ; two sisters, Mary Allen of Oregon and Norma Laro Andover, NH, and a god son, Tony Snow of Maine. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by two brothers, James Pulsifer and Robert Jewett, and a sister, Patricia Barr.
There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Center Harbor Christian Church, 80 Bean road, Center Harbor, 03226.

Burial will be at a later date.
