Robert E. Costanzo, 75, of Silk Lane, North Scituate, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Charlotte (Santos) Costanzo. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Ezio and Derna (Calderari) Costanzo. He had lived in New York until moving to Scituate 14 years ago.
Mr. Costanzo was a teacher and retired from the NY City Board of Education in 1996 after serving as an Assistant superintendent. He was a member of the Feeney Council Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Church, a former member of the Scituate Library Board of Trustees and he also taught Italian at CLCF in Cranston.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Roland Costanzo of East Brunswick, NJ, Elisa Pollard and her husband, Scott of Foster, his five grandchildren: Daniela and Angela Costanzo and Logan, Luca and Siena
Pollard, and a sister Patricia Fuller of Ft. Lee, NJ.
His funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 9am from Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, Scitutate. Burial will be in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY at a later date. Visitation Friday 4-7pm.
