Lawrence "Jack" Raper, 82, of Anderson, died August 9, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 9, 1934 in Anderson the son of Raymond and Betty (Klus) Raper.
He was the owner of Jack Raper Industrial Supply. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church; Edgewood Country Club; Sertoma, Elks Lodge; ISA Member. He loved his family, golf, cards, boating, fishing, hunting, jokes and telling stories.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Judith Faye (Davis) Raper of Anderson whom he married Jan. 9, 1955 at Christ Lutheran Church; his children, Mike (Melody) Raper, Jill (Kevin) Marshman, Andy (Laurie) Raper, Scott Raper; three brothers, Marion, Raymond and Charlie Raper sister, Tina Brashear; grandchildren: Gabe, Ashley, Miranda (husband Adam) Josh, Haley, Kyra, Brooke and Avery; great grandson, Oliver; several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pauline and a grandson, Mitch.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 15, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor John Jameson of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
