Agnes M. Houghton (Hannigan) of Canton passed at Wingate in Sharon August 9th surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Dorchester, she graduated from Mt. St. Joseph Academy and has lived in Canton since 1960. Agnes was an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton where she was a CCD Teacher and was also very active with St. John’s School and was a founding member of St. John School Foundation and assisted in many school functions over the years. Beloved wife of James F. Mother of James A. Houghton and his wife Amy of Westford, Lisa A. Aptowitz and her husband Jess of Mansfield, Paula M. Houghton of Canton, Jeanine A. Sullivan and her husband Kevin of Canton, and Kara E. Houghton of Stoughton. Grandmother of Olivia Sullivan, James and Patrick Houghton, Laura and Mark Aptowitz and the late Declan Sullivan. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Saturday morning at 10:30.
