LAWN, Edward A. 80, of Dennis, formerly of Brooklyn, NY passed away
peacefully August 7 with family by his side. Beloved father of Karen
Gambon and husband Andrew of Walpole, Michael Lawn of NJ, Edward
Lawn of Eagle CO. and former wife Gail Nye of Stuart, FL. Proud
grandfather of Mitchell and Andrew Gambon. Ed worked as a supervisor
for Colonial Gas, now National Grid, and later owned his own company,
Utility Service Associates. He was a loved member of his community. He
was known for his carpenter skills and willingness to always lend a hand.
Ed could build or fix anything and was a truly talented craftsman. His
interests included fishing, gardening, cooking and tinkering in his workshop.
His Kale soup was second to none. One of his favorite pastimes was being
a member of the Dennis Senior Softball League, where he earned the
nickname “Fast Eddie”. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and
loved him. Many thanks to Elder Services of Cape Cod, Meals on Wheels
and their wonderful volunteers, his caregivers at Bayada, HopeHealth
Hospice and The McCarthy Care Center of Sandwich. All these caring
people made a profound difference in helping Ed remain in his home during
his prolonged illness. He was able to enjoy all the wildlife that dotted the
landscape of his property and be in the place he truly loved. Services
