SULLIVAN, Daniel J. passed peacefully on August 7, 2016, at the age of 88, at his home in Winthrop, surrounded by his four loving children. Born in Charlestown, MA, on March 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Dennis and Margaret (Donnelly) Sullivan. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years Anne C. (Sullivan) Sullivan. Devoted father of Dennis P. Sullivan and his dearest friend Carolyn Troy of Winthrop, Mark S. Sullivan and his wife Loree of Stratham, N.H. Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. and his wife Pamela of Exeter, NH, Eve Marie Sennott and her husband Mark of Winthrop, and the late Amy Sullivan. Adored grandfather of Ryan, Colin, Justin, and Dylan Sullivan and Matthew, Amy and Daniel Sennott. Great grandfather of Nala Sullivan. Dear brother of the late John Sullivan, Helen Pignato Lapenas and Ann Marie Dowd all of Winthrop. Lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby 210 Winthrop St WINTHROP, on Thurs, August 11, at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Weds, from 4-8pm. Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Navy on his 17th birthday and was a veteran of WWII. After returning from the war, he became a member of the International Longshoreman’s Association-Local #799 until his retirement in 1990 to spend time doting on his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
