Frances H. (Hall) Jones, 102, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home. She leaves three nieces, Helen Hartmann of Vero Beach, FL, Virginia Johnson of Atlanta, GA, and Anne Eichleay of Ligonier, PA, and two nephews, William Maddox of Canton, OH and David Maddox of Carmel, CA. She is also survived by her devoted caregivers as well as a number of close friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry McDonald Jones in 1959.
Frances was born in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Mills) Hall, and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She lived in Worcester most of her life and dedicated her working years to the State Division of Employment where she found great joy in finding work for newcomers to the city. She often followed their progress as they settled in the area and their families grew.
Frances was a Girl Scout leader at Wesley Methodist Church for a number of years where she positively influenced the lives of many young women. She was a big fan of watching golf and quiz shoes on television and she was a regular at many bingo halls in the area. However, her passion was P.E.O., an international organization promoting education for women, and she was often bringing new members into the group. Her spunk and determination will be remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be private. Frances’s wishes are that her ashes, along with those of her late husband Harry, be sent to Ligonier, PA in care of her niece Anne.
