SALEM – Marylyn G. Leszczynski, 92, of Peabody, formerly of Salem died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at Care One in Peabody following a brief illness.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ursula Perry. She raised her family in Lynn and was a resident of Salem for over 20 years.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as a registered nurse and worked at the former Saugus General Hospital and later at the former Lynn Hospital.
The Love of her life were her children and family. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, reading and was active at the council of aging many years ago. Her favorite sayings were "Let go, Let God" & "Walk tall with a big stick"
Mrs. Leszczynski is survived by a son, William Shepherd of Lynn, two daughters, Susan Shepherd Kowalski and her husband Philip Kowalski of Gloucester, Karen Shepherd Castaldo and her husband John Castaldo of Salem, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert Shepherd , Elaine Shepherd Rodman, and Joyce Shepherd Neves.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 8 S. Common St., Lynn, Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Committal services will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In accordance with Mrs. Leszczynski’s wishes, there were no visiting hours. Arrangements are by the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem.
