TAUNTON – Louis Borges, husband of the late Diane T. Borges, died at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury on August 5, 2016.
He was 84.
Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary (Razendes) Borges.
Louis served with the US Navy during the Korean War.
He owned and operated the former Louis Borges Real Estate and Timberland Oaks Cocktail Lounge for many years.
He was a lifetime member of the Taunton Lodge of Elks # 150, the VFW David F. Adams Post 611, the Korean War Veterans, and he was a past member of the Taunton Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years.
He is survived by one son, Louis Borges, Jr, and his wife Lisa of Taunton; three daughters, Claudia McLaughlin and Melissa Roy, both of Taunton, Brenda Hurst of North Dighton; one sister, Josephine Ventura of Taunton; nine grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Alfred Borges, John Borges, Joseph Borges, and Maime Pimental.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, August 10th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
