Obituary

NATICK: Ann Nisbet Cobb, 97, died peacefully under the care of her family at her residence in Natick on Monday, August 1st, 2016.

She was born in Meadville, PA on January 15, 1919, the second child of Harriet Stem and Frederick Nisbet. Her older brother John was born one year before her and both her parents were in the medical field.

Ann is survived by her children Patricia Cobb of Natick. Cynthia Cobb of Framingham, Marci Cobb Sundstrom of Taby, Sweden and Tom Cobb of Kauai. Beloved Grandmother of Anna and Jesse Sullivan of Framingham and Annika and Christoffer Sundstrom of Sweden. Her husband Irvin Wilson Cobb predeceased her in January 1997. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Betsey and Carl Nisbet of Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Ann had a long and distinguished career as a musician playing the harp and was a graduate of Salem College, Curtis Institute and the Eastman School of Music. She played with the General Electric Hour of Charm Orchestra in New York City in the 1940’s and with the Minneapolis Symphony during the 1949/ 1950 season. She also played countless shows in Boston and the suburbs as well as performing with many other choral groups. She was a gifted singer as well as a musician and sang with the Chorus Pro Musica.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many.
