Edith Jones of Medford died on Monday, August 1, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Barnes) Jones. Edith moved to Medford in 1950 and worked for many years as a medical secretary.
Edith was the cherished cousin of George Call of South Weymouth, Kenneth Call of Milton, Mary Lou Keegan of West Roxbury, Dorothea Grindle of Maine, Frank "Buddy" Barnes of Quincy, Walter Barnes of Hawaii, Beverly Brodeur of Salem, NH, Judith Merchant of Lebanon, NH, and Gerard Bolton of Medford. She is also survived by dear friend Marion Cook of Dorchester, and friend & caregiver Antonietta Raffele of Medford, as well as many more loving friends and relatives.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday, August 11 at St. Augustine Chapel, 181 Dorchester St., Boston, 02127. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 11 AM to noon. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
