Carmel M. (Pellerin) Vellali of Boca Raton Florida, formerly of Needham died on Wednesday July 20, 2005 at the Delray Medical Center in Florida. She was 87 years old. Born and raised in Waterville Maine, Carmel taught elementary school in Waterville. She was a Needham resident for 52 years, from 1947-1999. She was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church where she was active with the Sodality, Saint Joseph’s Women’s Guild and the CYO. Mrs. Vellali was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and the former Glover Hospital. She worked as a bookkeeper at the former Glover Hospital and was Co-Owner and bookkeeper of Vellali Landscape and Contract Co. formerly of Needham. Beloved wife of the late Victor J. Vellali Sr. Loving mother of Victor J. Jr. and his wife Lauren of Medfield Sherry Long and her husband Dan of Pembroke and Lisa M. Vellali of Boca Raton FL. Sister of Norman Pellerin and Yvette Crosby both of Boston. Adoring grandmother of Christine and Matthew Long and Carl Vellali. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue (exit 19B off Rte 128) on Wednesday July 27 at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.
