David Carl Lee, 68, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 6, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Greg Carroll and the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Lee was born June 19, 1948, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late James Carl & Bertha Mae Bell Lee. He lived in the community all of his life and graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1968. He was a farmer and worked for Polar Beverage, as a forklift driver, for over 21 years. Mr. Lee loved watching Western movies and he loved his dogs; especially Coco. Mr. Lee was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Versa Anita Griffin Lee of Fitzgerald; children: Chris Lee & Leah of Ocilla and Todd Lee & Natalie of Atlanta; grandchildren: Griffin Lee, Audrey Lee, Jack Lee and one due in November; a brother: James Lee & Nan of McDonough; two sisters: Shirley L. Heard & Phillip of Carrollton and Carolyn L. Strickland of Roswell. He was preceded in death by his parents: James Carl & Bertha Mae Bell Lee, and a brother-in-law: Grady W. Strickland.
