Obituary

WESTFORD—Effie Gianotis King, a resident of Westford for over 35 years, died Friday morning at the Cambridge Hospital, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Calvin A. King, with whom she traveled extensively during his military service.

She was born in Lowell, on October 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Apostolos ‘Paul’ and Constantina (Demetracopuoulos) Gianotis. She was a graduate of the Lowell Public Schools and Lowell High School.

Mrs. King had been employed for 17 years at the former Murray’s Printing, now the Courier Citizen, in Westford.

Surviving her are three children: Arthur John King, of Lowell; Constance King, of Westford; and Calvin, and his wife Pamela King, of Westford; four grandchildren: John E. King; Derek M. King; Joseph P. Scanlon; and Rachel A.A. King; three great-grandchildren: Jazen Cardell; Parker Cardell, and Lily Grubbs; a brother: William Gianotis, of Lowell; two sisters: Victoria Snead, and Alexandria Gianotis, both of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves family in Michigan.

She was the mother of the late Alexander King, sister of the late Stella, James and Alexander Gianotis, and Ethel Pickett, and aunt of the late Michael and Susan Gianotis.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Monday, July 25th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her funeral service to be held Tuesday, July 26th, at 10 AM the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH of the HOLY TRINITY, Lewis Street, Lowell. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
