Obituary

Helen “Jean” G. (Seviour) Blair, 91 of Hopkinton, formerly of Medway, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Blair who passed away in 2005.

Born on October 9, 1924 in Framingham, MA she was the daughter of the late Gordon W. and Alice G. (Kelliher) Seviour. Helen graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1942. She had lived in Medway for most of her life before moving to Hopkinton in 2005.

Helen worked as a Hairdresser before becoming Manager of Mars Department Store in Medway, a position she held for 17 years before her retirement.

In her spare time, Helen enjoyed making crafts and loved spending time with her family. When her daughters were younger she was very active in Girl Scouts with them.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Gevry and her husband Leonard of Webster and Jayne Filzow and her husband Fiodor of Hopkinton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Deanna and Justin Filzow and her sisters Doris Henry of Hilton Head, SC, and Alice Hassapelis of Stockton Springs, ME. She was the sister of the late Catherine Choate, Robert Seviour and Donald Seviour.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 5 from 8:30-9:30am in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St., Medway. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
