Lillian A. (Thayer) Butler 59, of Brockton entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2016 surrounded by her family following many years of failing health. She was born in Middleboro, MA to the late Lewis and Dora (Russell) Thayer. Lillian graduated from Middleboro High School and attended some courses at Massasoit Community College. She had worked as a Transportation Transport Provider for a local bus company.
Lillian enjoyed playing bingo and slots at the casino; however what she loved the most was her time spent with her grandchildren. She was a blunt woman full of energy and had a bright smile. She always put her family before any and everything. She was funny and caring and fought a long hard battle. She will greatly be missed by all who truly knew her.
She is survived by her life long partner Robert H. Knight; her four sons, John P. Butler III, Thomas E. Butler, Jake H. Knight all of Brockton and Robert R. Knight and his wife Kristin Knight of Taunton; her sisters Donna L. (Thayer) Munroe of Brockton and Sandra F. (Thayer) Wing of Lakeville and her seven grandchildren, Hailey Butler-Munroe, Cameron and Caidence Knight, Thomas Butler Jr. and Jessica, Jasmine and Sophia Butler; also several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday August 4, 2016 from 3-6 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service all to conclude at 7pm. Cremation will follow. Celebration of life gathering to be held following services at the Middleboro V.F.W. from 8-11 pm.
