Mark W. Rice, III, 65

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Mark W. Rice, III, age 65, of Mansfield, formerly of Worcester passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home on Monday, August 1, 2016. He was the husband of Janeen (Ryan) Rice.

Born in Worcester, MA on October 11, 1950, he was a son of the late Mark W., Jr. and Monita (Fortin) Rice.

Mark grew up in the Greendale neighborhood of Worcester and was educated in Worcester Schools. He had previously been employed as a manager at the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester.

A resident of Mansfield for the past nine years, Mark was an avid New England sports fan who also enjoyed talking politics and was always ready to defend his ideas with a challenging debate. He especially loved his grandchildren dearly and was known for his “green thumb” on the subject of gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Mark W. Rice, IV of Northborough and Ian T. Rice and his wife Ilisa of Canton. He was the grandfather of Sophia Rice, Hunter Rice and Logan Rice, and was the brother Carol Murray.

A get together will be held at a later date and location to be announced to remember and celebrate Mark’s Life.
