Mr. Dennis William Timmons, 65, of Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston, MA.
He was born on December 13th, 1950 in Lawrence to the late Charles and Doris (Gauthier) Timmons. Dennis was educated in the Packard, Kane and Breen Grammar Schools. He was a 1968 graduate of Lawrence High School before entering in the the service.
Dennis served in the United States Air force during Vietnam. During that time he received the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze service stars, the Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor and One Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, the Air Force Longevity Service Award, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
He was an attendant of Saint Patrick's Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts and worked for Raytheon as a Shipper for 35 years.
Dennis was a member of the Lawrence British Club and various service organizations. He was a disabled Veteran. He enjoyed Basketball, sports and spending time with his good friend Bruce Fielding.
His family members include his daughter Carly Timmons and Scott Viscardi of Tauton, MA
his brothers Charles Timmons and his wife Lynn of Buffalo, NY and Jay Timmons of Salem, NH
His sister Karen Pearson and her husband Richard of Pembroke, NH
His beloved Special Friend Nancy Carey of North Andover, MA.
His nieces and nephews Lisa, Olivia, Jessica, Sarah, Matthew, Sean, Brian, Kevin, and several great nieces and nephews.
As well as Aunts, Uncles and many cousins. He was predeceased by a niece Kelly Timmons
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc, 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the calling hours. Burial will be take place at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
