Rose (Beltrami) De Furia, a lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 after a long illness. She was 84. Rose was born in Cambridge, the eldest child of Alessandro and Anna Beltrami. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Rose was a beloved neighbor and friend to many. She worked for many years at her local corner store, Small’s Variety where her friendship and concern for others was cherished by those who shopped there.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Dominic in 2002. She is survived by her four children: Donna DeFuria-Wellman and her husband Mark of York, ME; Michael DeFuria and his wife Debora of North Grafton; Karen Ryan and her husband Mark of South Yarmouth; and Richard DeFuria and his partner Carol Ribeiro of Boxborough. She is survived by 10 loving grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her sister Eleanor Cunniff of Woburn, and her brother Albert Beltrami of Medford. She is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday August 4th from 8:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
