James A. “Jimmy” Stone, 74, of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Tifton, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016, at The Oaks of Mayview in Raleigh, North Carolina. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Mr. Stone at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at Believers Baptist Church, 4767 Union Road, Tifton, GA. Mr. Stone will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 4, 2016, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born May 3, 1942 in Doerun, Mr. Stone was the son of the late J. S. Stone and Sarah Dorminey Stone. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Stone; and a sister, Joyce Lovett. He retired from IBM as a computer programmer and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for 40 years.
Mr. Stone is survived by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray Stone, Ralph Stone and Donnie and Glenda Stone, all of Tifton; a sister, Gail Stone of Severn, Maryland; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
