Clarice Ann Weis, 94, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2016 at Crown Pointe Assisted Living Community in Anderson, Indiana-after living a long and beautiful life.
Born October 13, 1921 and raised in Anderson, Clarice graduated from St. Mary's High School and St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. She resided most of her life in Anderson and she enjoyed the years she spent on Sanibel Island, FL and Morse Lake.
She was a former member of the Richard Crashaw Club, the Anderson Country Club and the Anderson Fine Arts Center. She served on the St. Mary's School board, the Victoria Guild board, the Isabel Harter House Auxiliary and the Liturgy Council at Our Lady of Grace Church in Noblesville. She was a member of Town and Gown of Anderson University, St. Mary's College Alumnae Club of Indianapolis. She formerly belonged to Great Books Club, Harbourites County Extension Club, Friends of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the C.A.R.E. program of the Anderson Public Schools.
But most of all, Clarice was a loving daughter, wife, mother, homemaker, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Matt and Mae (Cannon) Dunn and by her husband of 56 years, C. Michael Weis.
Her memory will be cherished by her nine children: Michael T. (wife Julie) Weis of Georgetown, TX, John D. (wife Deborah S.) Weis of Noblesville, Robert C. (wife Maxine) Weis of St.Louis, MO, Mary Ann (husband Mark L.) Fenimore of Jacksonville, FL, Catherine (husband Richard A.) Wohlberg of Anderson, Thomas J. Weis(former wife Kimberly L.) of Houston, TX, Margaret E. Weis of Fishers, Patricia E. Weis of Indianapolis, and Daniel C.(wife Carlene) Weis of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by nieces, Annette (husband Robert Maher and Claire (husband Dan) Weir.
She was blessed with 20 Grandchildren; David (wife Jenny McClain) Weis, Meaghan (husband Shannon) Edmonds, Andrew Weis, Nathan (wife Tricia) Weis, Amanda (husband Jason) Leet, Lisa (husband Scott) Wagganer, Corey (wife Jenny) Laurent, Matthew Fenimore, Michael (wife Stacy) Fenimore, Michaela (husband Mark) Kahley, Mark Fenimore, Brian Wohlberg, Amy (husband Seth) Closter, Joseph (wife Jennifer) Weis, Emily (husband James) Layne, John Michael Weis, Charles Weis, Caleb Weis, Haley Weis, and Natalie Weis. She was blessed with 22 great grandchildren, as well.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to The Holy Cross (formerly St. Mary's ) School Scholarship fund, the Christian Center, or the charity of the donor's choice.
