Meredith K. (Marsh) Adler, 80, of Anderson, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 following a brief illness.
She was born on October 30, 1935 in Anderson, the daughter of Tom I. and Dorothy (Brower) Marsh. She was an educator and received her doctorate from University of Kentucky. She taught all grades from pre-school to college level during her career.
Meredith was one of the founders in developing and creating the national Head Start Program. She had a great love for children and her most recent job was working as a liaison between the Center for Mental Health and the Anderson Community Schools. She tutored many students through the years and was also active with Habitat for Humanity, and CASA. She enjoyed reading and rummage sales, and her family.
She is survived by nieces and nephews; Leah Litteral, Laura Koger, Paul Noble, Lee Noble, Carey Bryson, Lorraine Marsh, Pamela Marsh, Cheryl McGinnis, and William Marsh; a granddaughter, Hannah Harpst; sister-in-law, Sue Marsh; special friend, Billy Moore; 3 half brothers, Michael, Vincent and James Marsh; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Madelon Noble and a brother Thomas Myron Marsh.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Don Collins. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the family to assist with funeral arrangements.
