Marilyn Edith (Farrar) Hart, 88, of Life Care Center in Scituate, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July, 30th. She was a resident of Whitman for 50 years.
Born in Boston, MA on May 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth (Whittemore) Farrar and youngest of 5 siblings. She graduated in 1946 from Jamaica Plain High School.
She was a faithful member at Immanuel Baptist Church for many years along with serving her Lord and Savior at several local churches throughout her life. She enjoyed singing in the choir, playing piano, word searches, bowling, and playing Ms. Pac-man.
Marilyn was the loving wife of the late George A. Hart, Jr. for 60 years. She was the beloved mother of the late Dennis Hart and his wife Susan of Norwell, Sue Pulsifer of Whitman, Jeffrey Hart and his wife Michelle of Whitman, John Hart and his wife Erika of East Bridgewater. She was the treasured grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren and is survived by her sister Myrtle Swain and her husband Kenneth of Weston.
Her memorial service will be at 11 am Thursday, August 4th at Immanuel Baptist Church in Brockton. Burial will follow at 1:45 pm in MA VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, August 3rd from 4 – 8 pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman and one hour prior to her memorial service at the Immanuel Baptist Church from 10- 11 am.
