Richard W. Johnson, 70, of Elizabeth Avenue, Smithfield, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Jean L. (Taylor) Johnson.
Born in Jamaica, NY, he was the son of the late Carl L. and Mabel (Shrader) Johnson. He had lived in Smithfield for 23 years.
He had worked as an employment agent for Johnson & Tregar Associates in Providence before retiring. He graduated from the former Barrington College.
Besides his wife he is survived by his stepchildren: C. Edward Crawley and his wife, Maureen of Glocester, Christine Howell and her husband, Chris of Sandwich, MA, Paul Yattaw and his wife, Brigette of Rumford, four grandchildren, and two sisters Beverly Johnson of Gloucester, MA and Meredith Morea of Ocala, FL and nephew Joseph Morea & wife Rebecca.
His Memorial Service and Celebration of Life to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:30am am in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 15Hayes Street, Providence, RI 02908. Service attendees may park in the Providence Place Mall parking garage Guests are invited to a collation immediately following the service. Please omit flowers.
