Aiken, SC---Mrs. Diane Goodman Kirk went to be with her Savior on Saturday, July 30, 2016, after a long battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
Private graveside service of celebration will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Westover Memorial Park with Reverend David Lester officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
Mrs. Kirk was the daughter of Horace Goodman and the late Hazel Durden Goodman. She was born in Porterdale, Georgia, on August 8, 1954, Diane grew up in Covington, Georgia.
She was a graduate of Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta and worked as a Registered Nurse and Supervisor in Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana and South Carolina. In her 31 years as a nurse, Diane considered her work as a ministry to her patients, in the love of Christ. During those years, Diane also served devotedly, in churches, beside her pastor husband. She enjoyed: camping, sailing, bowling and crafting. She was a member of Aiken’s First Baptist Church, in Aiken, South Carolina.
In addition to her father, Diane is survived by her former husband, James Kirk, daughter, Brittany E. Kirk, brother, Terry Goodman (Judy), five nephews and a niece.
The family would like to sincerely thank the administration and staff of The Ridge Rehab and Health of Edgefield, for their loving care of “Miss Diane” and Jim, during these last three years. They also thank Regency Hospice for their loving support and guidance.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to Aiken’s First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29802-3157.
