Franco Capobianco of Medford died on Friday, July 29. Born and raised in Gaeta, Italy, he was the son of the late Giacinto and Marietta (Orticelli) Capobianco. Franco came to the U.S. in 1970, settling first in Somerville before moving to Medford almost 40 years ago.
Franco was the beloved husband of Assunta (Raponi) Capobianco, and the devoted father of Maria Capobianco and her fiancé Larry of Medford, Lisa Annello and her husband Joseph of Billerica, Stefania Vozzella and her husband Michael, Antonio Cinelli and his wife Ashley, all of Wakefield, Federico Cinelli and his companion Alicia Schmidt of Florida. He was the loving grandfather of Mia, Ava, Dylan, Sofia, Aria, Harper, and the cherished brother of Maria L. Capobianco, and Anna Manfredi and her husband Natale, all of Somerville. Franco is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Concetta (Capasso) and his daughter Daniella Capobianco.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, August 2, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday, August 1, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
