Obituary

NATICK: William E. Dailey, age 66, a lifelong Natick resident, died early Friday morning, July 29, 2016, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a long illness. He had been the devoted husband of the late Stephanie A. (Kendrick) Dailey for 24 years.

Born in New Bedford, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Anna E. (Kearns) Dailey. Bill was a 1968 graduate of Natick High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester State College.

Bill was employed in the financial area of Digital Equipment Corporation for 23 years. He then worked as a financial consultant for KPMG until his illness related retirement five years ago. Athletic throughout much of his life, Bill played on Natick area teams with local softball leagues and umpired after his playing years were past. He enjoyed bowling with several Natick area leagues and was a Red Sox fan to the core. When not away exploring someplace nearby or off in another country, he and Stephanie enjoyed sharing their home with family and friends, particularly when the weather was right for entertaining by the pool.

Predeceased by Stephanie in 2009, he is survived by her children, Nicholas G. White and his wife Trish Blain of Somerville, and Tara A. Damiano and Gene Crowley of Bellingham; a granddaughter, Angelina Damiano, Rachael Stewart, Erin Crowley, and Alyssa Crowley; his sister, Kathleen A. Mahan and her husband Michael of Mesa, AZ; his niece, Heather, and her daughter, Carly. He was also the brother of the late Joseph C. Dailey.

His funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Tuesday, August 2nd at 9:00A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Linus Church, 119 Harvard Street, Natick, at 10:00A.M. Burial will follow in Dell Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday, 4 – 7P.M.
