Obituary

Pablo Castro, 80, of New Bedford died July 29, 2016 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Ana J. (Torres) Castro.
Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Raymundo and Felicita (Cruz) Castro, he lived in New York City most of his life before moving to New Bedford in 1974.
Mr. Castro was formerly employed as a professional waiter at the Barclay Hotel in New York City and later at Louie's on the Wharf, Thad's Steakhouse and the Gang Plank.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; 3 daughters, Ana Garcia of San Antonio, TX, and Wanda Golden and Myrna Castro, both of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Luiz Castro and Fernando Castro, both of New York City, and Eddie Castro of Puerto Rico; a sister, Lucy Ramirez of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Briana Anacleto and Jeffrey Vieira, both of New Bedford and Stephan Barboza of San Antonio, TX; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
