TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Jeanne F. (Tremblay) Wicks, died peacefully on July 29th at Care One Wilmington after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Mrs. Wicks was born October 27, 1925 in Somerville, a daughter of the late Leon and Madeline (Mayall) Tremblay, and was raised in Somerville. She was the beloved wife of Samuel N. Wicks, who died in 1976.
After her marriage, she moved to Tewksbury to raise her family.
While she devoted her life to her husband and family, she also worked outside her home for the Holt and Bugbee Lumber Company in Tewksbury. Mrs. Wicks was a communicant of St. William’s parish in Tewksbury.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Winifred and David Myers of Tewksbury, with whom she resided; a son, Samuel N. Wicks Jr. of Naugatuck, Connecticut; a former daughter-in-law, Barbara (Desmond) Wicks of Washington, NH; four beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Myers, Bethany Heidemann, Christina Strickland, and Sarah Gregor; one sister, Mary Ann Steele and her husband Lou of Florida; one great grandson, Michael Strickland and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Monday, August 1st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey St and 975 Main St (Rt 38) Tewksbury Center, Ph (800 in Ma or 978) 851-2950. Her funeral will begin Tuesday, August 2nd from the funeral home at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. William’s Church 1351 Main St (Rt38) Tewksbury at 11:00am.
