Beverly D. (Gilmette) Britto, 69, of New Bedford died Wednesday July 27, 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Adelaide (Santos) Guilmette and Matheus "Puddie" Gilmette, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Beverly was formerly employed by Better Community Living.
She is survived by two children, Andrea Lincoln of Atlanta, GA and Brett Britto and his wife Rhonda of Tampa, FL; her siblings, Robert Gilmette of New Bedford, Marlene Sylvester of Attleboro, Kenneth Correia of Chicago, IL, Geraldine Barrett and Susan Miranda, both of New Bedford, Wayne Ennes and Donna Jackson, both of California, and Maureen Tavares of Florida; nine grandchildren; fiver great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her stepmother, Rose Gilmette.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-7 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
