It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our father, Kevin Russell Lewin, 60, on July 24, 2016, in New Bedford where he lived.
Kevin was the most loving father of three darling daughters, Jody Lee Lewin, Bridget Wang and Kathryn Lewin. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Lewin; two sons-in-law, Zack Wang and Christopher Grande; two sisters, Linda Faneuf and Gail Johnson; a sister-in-law, Nancy Lewin; 5 grandchildren, Aiden and Kennedy Lewin, Camden Lewin-Pagan and Emma and Hanna Wang; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless beloved friends.
He was the son of the late Raymond F. Lewin, brother of the late Mark Lewin, and brother-in-law of the late Richard Faneuf.
Kevin was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. He was a dedicated, hard-working roofer for Union Local 33 for many years until his retirement.
Kevin was a known sports fan of all the home teams especially the Red Sox. He loved playing, watching and even talking sports. Kevin was a brilliant, self-educated man. He had a passion for writing and he truly was an artist with a pen. Kevin lived for helping others. From the most menial tasks for friends and family to helping perfect strangers when natural disaster struck- he would give aid in any way he could.
Kevin had the kindest most generous heart and was adored and loved by all who knew him. No words can describe how much he will be missed. His spirit will live on through all the lives he touched. May God rest his soul.
Kevin's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 2-6 PM prior to his service.
