Everett S. “Woody” Woodbury, Jr., 83, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday July 26, 2016 in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. He was born in Londonderry, NH on August 15, 1932, a son of the late Everett S. Woodbury, Sr. and May (Bonner) Woodbury, and had been a resident of Derry for many years. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1951. Mr. Woodbury had served our Country as a US Navy reservist in Haiti.
He is survived by his daughter, Colleen Wert and her husband Larry of Hillsboro, NH; four grandchildren, Jason Strickland and his wife Tobie of Hooksett, NH, Dean Strickland and his wife Tina of North Carolina, Shilo Iuele and her husband Tony of Atkinson, NH, and Rhiannon Woodbury of North Carolina; three great grandchildren, Samantha Pirello, Avery Strickland, and Michael Strickland. He was predeceased by his wife Marlene (DeVarney) Woodbury in 2005, and his son Richard Woodbury in 1982.
Following cremation, he will be buried in the family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an association dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
